Series contains speeches and addresses written and delivered by Dr. Melville Cumming at events between 1918-1957. Many of these occurred at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College to graduating students and commemorating NSAC's anniversary.

Item is a speech given to the Rural Science School in July 29, 1918. It's a story about John Young and the Agricola Letters.

Fonds contains records created and collected primarily by Alexander H. Leighton, with some by Jane Leighton Murphy. Documents span from Leighton's studies at Princeton, Cambridge, and Johns Hopkins univerities, through his government employment in World War II, and his teaching career at Cornell, Dalhousie, and Harvard. The majority of records are related to the 1961 Cornell-Aro Mental Health Research Project and the 1963 Study on the Role of Women, both based in Nigeria, and the Stirling County Study, based in Nova Scotia. Record types include correspondence, manuscripts, grant applications, reports, photographs and slides, medical and academic records, method and guidebooks, reviews, offprints and publications, teaching and course materials, and surveys and interview transcripts.

A sous-fonds contains records documenting the migration of Alexander Leighton's parents from Ireland to the United States and their subsequent life in Philadelphia. The sous-fonds contains extensive correspondence between extended family members over the course of a century, as well as photographs, diaries, wills, family trees, memoirs, and Alexander Leighton's personal correspondence.

The fonds consist of research notes generated during Bevan's study of Dryden's literature; academic and departmental correspondence and documentation created while Bevan was head of the English department and afterwards; documents and correspondence relating to operations at the Dalhousie Review from 1972-1980; fiction and other writings; material pertaining to courses he taught from 1949 to 1976; and various undated papers written by his students.

Ann Connor Brimer keynote address launching Canadian Children's Book Week

File contains a copy of Budge Wilson's "Ann Connor Brimer Talk," the keynote address at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, which launched Canadian Children's Book Week in 1999. The speech addresses the state of children's literature in Nova Scotia. The file also includes a copy of a fax sent to Budge Wilson from regarding the schedule for the Canadian Children's Book Week Gala.
