Autograph letter from James Wolfe to his uncle, Major Walter Wolfe, of Dublin

This letter was written while waiting in Halifax for the arrival of the Commander-in-Chief, Major General Jeffery Amherst, who had recently been appointed to take command of the expedition against Louisbourg. The Goldsmith referred to was Wolfe's cousin, Captain Edward Goldsmith, with whom he corresponded regularly.
