Charles Douglas was Deputy Minister of the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture and Marketing. Douglas also served as Assistant Agricultural Representative in Pictou, Agricultural Representative in Hants County, Assistant Director and, later, Director of Extension, and as Director of Livestock. File comprises Dorothy and John Dobson's research records and notes about the O'Briens, a family of Nova Scotia master mariners. There are also photographs of the schooner Lilian E. Kerr.
File contains nine drawings of the Dalhousie University mace created by R.L. de C.H. Saunders, a Dalhousie University Professor of Anatomy who designed the mace in 1949. The drawings illustrate details of various parts of the mace. The mace was carved by former Deputy Mayor of Halifax A.H. Macmillan. It is used during convocation ceremonies and stored in University Hall.
File contains a letter and circular sent from Harriet Taber Richardson, Secretary of the Associates of Port Royal, to the Essex Institute in 1930. The letter requests the Institute's support of the reconstruction of the Habitation.
File contains 25 exam papers likely taken by Glen Stephen Ells between the junior and senior year (1913-1915) for subjects associated with agriculture at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. The exam papers are mostly typed and cover a range of topics from entomology, dairy, animal husbandry, commercial law, mathematics, and English literature. The exams are annotated and scribbled over and appear to mainly belong to one student Glen Stephen Ells. One exam paper in particular shows strategy planning for a hockey game on the reverse of which Ells was a team-member.

Frank McMahon's registration tickets for the Halifax Medical College (Dalhousie College and University Medical Faculty) and his attendance/examination cards for Anatomy, Materia Medica, Practical Anatomy, Histology, Physiology, Botany, and Chemistry. The cards are printed on several different colours of heavy card and are held in a small black leather-bound folder.
