Composts and composting: a selective annotated bibliography of materials relevant to Canadian agriculture

Subseries contains an annotated bibliography of compost resources compiled and annotated by Lisa Simpson, Department of Biology and MacRae Library, Nova Scotia Agricultural College. It presents literature pertaining to agricultural composting as it relates to ingredients, factors, processes, and product benefits, as well as Bio-Dynamic and vermicompost methods. Specific reference is made to agricultural products, particularly animal and plant wastes. References were acquired from various academic institutions. Selection from the large volume of available composting information was based on the relevance to and usage in Canadian agriculture. Literature which did not pertain to Canadian environmental conditions, or agriculture, was excluded. Articles of special interest have been included though they do not necessarily pertain to the specified locale or to agriculture. Information included dates from 1830 to 1994. Article summaries were composed by the author. References for which a print copy was not obtained (or which an English copy was not obtained) are listed by citation only. To avoid duplication, bibliographical entries are organized into sections according to subject, listed alphabetically within subject area sections, and numbered for purposes of indexing and cross reference to other subject areas.
