Series is a three-part feature on the annual Halifax International Busker Festival (August 1989).

3.5" Diskettes

Series contains 3.5" computer discs. The scope and content note for each box of discs is based on the disc labels. The discs were not in any particular order.

A.M. Smith and Company's photographs

This series contains a variety of photographs relevant to A.M. Smith and Company. They mostly include ships and views of buildings including A.M. Smith and Co. premises at Halifax, NS and other locations including Prospect, NS, and Newfoundland. There are also an assortment of photographs of individuals, including Fletcher S. Smith in group and portrait shots.

A.M. Smith and Company's printed material

This series contains a variety of information related to operations at A.M. Smith and Company, but not created by the company. This includes newspaper clippings, blueprints, manuals procedures and regulations, conference proceedings, reference books, and a scrapbook on fishing (which is composed primarily of newspaper and magazine clippings, and correspondence).

Academic and departmental correspondence and related material

Series consists of both incoming and outgoing personal correspondence relating to Bevan's work as an English academic, incoming and outgoing correspondence created during his time as head of the English department, and letters of recommendation written by Bevan for students and colleagues. Other material in this series includes documentation and records produced by Bevan relating to his general work within the English department, such as committee reports, minutes of meetings, department briefs, and university regulations for the period.

Academic files of Peter B. Waite

Series consists of academic files of Peter B. Waite, including correspondence; reports; examination questions; Dalhousie University Faculty Council meeting documents and various committee meeting documents.

Academic publications and manuscripts

Series contains literary manuscripts, academic offprints, and periodical publications written by John Daniel Logan as part of his work on poetry, philosophy, literary criticism, and literary history.


This series includes the following types of materials: course descriptions, evaluations and examinations; course proposals and deployment; accreditation information, reviews and correspondence; continuing education and seminar files; academic timetables; library accessions and reference materials; surveys and questionnaires.

Acadia Fisheries

Series consists of documents created and used by Acadia Fisheries, a subsidiary of A. M. Smith and Co. These documents include correspondence with business associates and government departments; administrative documents relating to the construction of the Mulgrave Plant; legal agreements and contracts; and financial statements and related documents (loan applications, inventories, operational estimates).

Acting records of Jenny Munday

Series contains documents related to theatrical, television, film, and radio performances of actor Jenny Munday. The documents include acting contracts, correspondence, theatre programs, reviews, newspaper articles, photographs, and other documents about the productions that Munday acted in. The documents also include greeting cards congratulating Munday for her performances.


This series consists of records relating to different activities the committee had been involved in, including abortion debates, day care, education, pay equity, occupational health and safety, and unemployment.


Series contains materials documenting the acts, predominantly high wire performers, hired by the Bill Lynch Shows and related materials. Written material includes lists of possible performers and their salaries from the Al Martin Agency. Related materials include photographs and posters related to the acts.


The series consists of A. Stanley Mackenzie’s notes, drafts, and newspaper clippings for the addresses he gave throughout his professional career. His audiences were diverse, and included Dalhousie Medical School students, Canadian Club of Truro, Nova Scotia Hospital Nursing School students, etc.

This file contains 2 textual records, which consists of speeches written by Dr. Melville Cumming addressed to graduating students and commemorating NSAC's anniversary.

Addresses of Guy Henson

Series consists of Guy Henson's notes, drafts, research material, newspaper clippings, and some memorabilia for the numerous addresses he gave throughout his professional career. His audiences were diverse, and included service clubs, school associations, provincial federations and associations, and women's institutes.

Addresses of James Aitchison

Series consists of speeches and addresses written or given by Aitchison during his career at Dalhousie University. Addresses by Aitchison during his political career as president and leader for the New Democratic Party can be found in the series titled "Political Career."


Series contains various administrative documents used to run the Bill Lynch Shows. Materials include letterhead, Greater Exposition Shows contract forms (blank), railway passes, commercial scripts, blueprints, and photographs.


This series contains records regarding the administration of the Halcon Science Fiction Society. Types of records included here are correspondence, meeting minutes, and membership cards and lists.


Series contains materials documenting the administrative functions of Rock Meets Bone. Written materials include correspondence, broadcast schedules, and purchase forms. Related materials include documents from the conference that inspired Rock Meets Bone.

Administration and planning records of the 1981 Learned Societies Conference

Series includes steering committee minutes and information on planning meetings and activities; press releases; correspondence with Dalhousie president and the Nova Scotia government offices; budget information, financial statements and banking information; information about Dalhousie and participating societies; and conference inquiries.

Series contains documents created and used in the administration of A.M. Smith and Company. These include varied documents such as employee papers and information, membership certificates of various associations, management meeting minutes, memos, product literature, various subject files, company history, estates and will documents. This series also includes caretaker reports for buildings owned by Parkdale Realty.

This series contains publications related to the record keeping of faculty and facilities, of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College between 1912-1986. It is arranged into three sub-series, Annual reports, Correspondences, and Facilities - Buildings.

Administration records of Eyelevel Gallery

Series provides contextual information on the organization and administration of the Eyelevel Gallery and the activities of its Board of Directors. Included are administrative records, minutes, annual reports, official status documentation and bylaws of the Gallery, and records from the Gallery's involvement with other associations.

Administration records of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 625 (Halifax).

This series documents the administrative functions of the Local, including the records of the Executive Board, membership, and staff. Much of the day-to-day work of the business manager is represented in this series, in particular dealings with the Local's membership, recreational activities, newsletters, and dues. The Local by-laws and internal disciplinary processes resulting from infractions of said by-laws or the union's constitution are also represented.

Administration records of the Maritime School of Social Work

This series includes the following types of materials: reports and statistics, admissions files (including student applications, interviews and correspondence), policy statements and general regulations, staff and committee meeting minutes and files, student services information (including Orientation and general registration packets), registrar files, facilities reports (including repairs, renovations, space planning, environmental health and safety, and relocation files), general correspondence, permits, contracts, agreements and program reviews.

Administration records of the Mulgrave Road Theatre

Series consists of research, annual general meeting minutes, reports, correspondence, conference and festival materials, sponsorship requests, publicity, and Canada Council records. The series also contains records from the following professional organizations: Nova Scotia Arts Council, Nova Scotia Drama League, Canadian Actors Equity Association, the Guild of Canadian Playwrights, Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre, Professional Association of Canadian Theatre, and Professional Association of Canadian Theatre.
