Fonds contains Jean Pell's broadcast scripts for The Gillans, a dramatic radio serial about a farming family produced for the Maritime version of CBC's Farm Family, which aired from 1941-1971. It was written by Norman Creighton and Kay Hill until 1949, when Jean Pell took over as the scriptwriter until the serial's final season in 1971. Scripts for the program, which aired every weekday, are arranged in chronological order; the occurrence of "emergency scripts," which were substituted when one or more characters were unable to perform, resulted in some episode numbers being skipped or numbered out of order.

Mr. Hamilton was alumni, faculty, and registrar of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College for 10 years. Included is a stethoscope that was used for cattle, a Nova Scotia Agricultural College mug, and a blue knit NSAC pullover sweater. The published books and booklets cover livestock husbandry (swine, cattle, poultry), feeding, judging and general agriculture. Most of the publications are Canadian and US government documents, a few textbooks were also included.
