File consists of records related to presenting the exhibition 'Fritz Brandtner 1896-1969: A Retrospective Exhibition', sponsored by Sir George Williams University, Montreal. On the water's edge

File consists of records relating to the exhibition 'On the water's edge', consisting of facsimiles of 17th and 18th century Dutch drawings from the collection of the Teylers Museum, Haarlem. The exhibition was presented at the Dalhousie Art Gallery in April 1971.

Records consist mainly of correspondence between Ernest Smith (Director, Dalhousie Art Gallery) and staff of the Royal Netherlands Embassy, whom the exhibition was circulated through. One additional record consists of a paper outlining the historical background of the Teylers Museum and the collection of drawings.

French paintings exhibition

File consists of records relating to organization, planning, and preparation for the exhibition 'French Painting 1840-1924' organized and circulated by the National Gallery of Canada and presented at the Dalhousie Art Gallery in February and March of 1971.

Records consist of correspondence, condition reports from Dalhousie Art Gallery and others, accompanying texts for the exhibition including a bibliography, recommended film screenings, readings, and descriptive texts; an exhibition loan agreement, docent agreements, lists of artworks and biographical information, and a newspaper clipping.

Synge research

File contains a variety of research from 1975 on J. S. Synge for a chapter of James Morrison's thesis on the Jos Plateau, Nigeria. The file contains a handwritten notes for a biography of Synge, a notebook containing handwritten notes on Synge and the Birom. The file contains a handwritten letter addressed to James Morrison from Synge, and a copy of the letter.

Beaver study correspondence

File is loosely organized into two sections: Nova Scotia beaver and Norway beaver. Both sections contain correspondence to and from government officials, biologists, academics, and industry consultants regarding research for and publication of Alexander Leighton's study on beaver mental characteristics. The Norway section also contains excerpts from Norwegian newspapers. There is also a set of handwritten notes titled "Outline for study of the Beaver: D. Cross & A.H. Leighton."
