The photograph was taken outside of Raddall, Sr.'s uncle Frank's shop in East Dulwich while Raddall, Sr. was on holiday. Frank is second from the left.

Raddall, Sr.'s name on the lower left side. Raddall, Sr. was a former instructor in the School of Musketry at Hythe, and was killed while commanding the Winnipeg Rifles, Canadian Expeditionary Force at Amiens France on August 9, 1918.

Raddall, Sr. marked his position in the parade on the front with an x: he is the fifth from the left in the foremost line, wearing a long, dark overcoat that nearly reaches his ankles.
