Scope and content

File consists of numerous drafts of Jerome Barkow's paper, Biological Evolution of Culturally Patterned Behavior, with notes and corrections by Barkow and Joan S. Lockard. Other items consist of Joan S. Lockard's, a Psychology and Neurological Surgery Associate Professor at the University of Washington, letter to Jerome Barkow confirming that she received his corrected chapter, and forwarded it to the book publisher; a letter Barkow from Lockard, saying she had made some minor edits to his chapter; letters to Jerome Barkow from the Human Ecology journal, informing him that his Biological Evolution of Culturally Patterned Behavior could not be published in the journal, as Barkow had not corrected his paper enough based on the journal reviewer's feedback; the actual reviews themselves; Barkow's response to the reviewers, going over how he disagreed with their criticism of his genetic assimilation section; and then we have the drafts of the paper itself, with the paper's topic centering around the relationship between culture, behavior, and how healthy and fit an individual is based on those two prior factors.
