Oral history

Series consists of seven audio cassettes and textual records. The audio cassettes are oral history field recordings on the Jos Plateau recorded by James Morrison. The textual records are from Atlantic oral history association's conference hosted by James Morrison in Truro.

Fonds contains correspondence from Dr. Frederick Waldemar (Waldo) Walsh to Dr. A. H. Harrington, regarding the Fruit and Vegetable Marketing Co-operative Organization in Nova Scotia in 1963. There are two series, one for certificates of Dr. Walsh, and another series for photographs taken at different events such as 4H events, Department of Nova Scotia Agriculture and Marketing conferences, retirement gatherings, and schools, while Walsh was a professor of Animal Husbandry [at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College] and sheep and swine promoter. Photos were taken and collected between 1910-1963.

Leather community records document the activities of the TightRope leather brotherhood, Mr. Atlantic Canada Leather [MACLeather] contests, and other leather groups across Canada and the United States. Materials include administrative records, photographs, promotional materials, correspondence, newsletters, and catalogues. United Church materials primarily relate to Stewart's efforts to attain Affirmed status for St. John's United Church, and include reference materials, correspondence, and newsletters. Fonds also contains objects and ephemera related to the leather community, Affirm, and Stewart's membership in the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union [NSGEU], as well as personal photographs, correspondence, and LGBT publications.

Folder consists of an 1823 membership certificate for Rev. Thomas MacCulloch from the Wernerian Natural History Society (12 January 1808 – 16 April 1858) which was an offshoot of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the 1827 membership certificate from the Montreal Natural History Society (1827-1928).

Magnetic encounters lunchtime panel : capital concerns : Ottawa's place in English Canadian theatre

File includes a document that provides information on participants in a lunchtime panel held on the Fourth Stage at the National Arts Centre on June 11, 2003. The document includes biographical information on Micheline Chevrier (moderator) and eight panelists: Linda Balduzzi, Ana Estable-Ferrero, Peter Honeywell, Wendy Lill, Gabriele Naumann-Maerten, Catherine O'Grady, Lorne Pardy, and Victoria Steele. The panel was presented by the Canadian Theatre Festival Society and the National Arts Centre.

Halifax Rainbow Health Project

Subseries contains materials relating to NSRAP's participation in the Halifax Rainbow Health Project. Operating between 2004-2006, the Halifax Rainbow Health Project was formed by Capital Health to research ways of increasing access to primary care services for members of Nova Scotia's LGBTQ community. It was a joint effort between the Nova Scotia Rainbow Action Project, the the AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia, and the Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Youth Project. Materials in subseries include meeting minutes and agendas, correspondence, project proposals, reference and planning materials, job postings, notes, and reports.

Time to deliver on AIDS in Nova Scotia materials, 2006

File contains materials produced for the Time to Deliver on AIDS in Nova Scotia workshop, held in Halifax on October 20, 2006. This workshop discussed the content of the XVI International AIDS Conference held in Toronto in August, 2006, and the conference's impact on HIV/AIDS services in Nova Scotia. Materials include conference proceedings, presentation slides, speaking notes, and a personal account of the conference.

Ann Connor Brimer keynote address launching Canadian Children's Book Week

File contains a copy of Budge Wilson's "Ann Connor Brimer Talk," the keynote address at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, which launched Canadian Children's Book Week in 1999. The speech addresses the state of children's literature in Nova Scotia. The file also includes a copy of a fax sent to Budge Wilson from regarding the schedule for the Canadian Children's Book Week Gala.
