Biographical history

Jasmine Wongus is an artist based in East Preston, Nova Scotia. Her artwork frequently focuses on the subject matter of race and culture, specifically on her albinism as an African-Nova Scotian. Jasmine’s education includes a Bachelor of Informatics from Dalhousie University, as well as education from NSCAD University and Athabasca University into 2D, 3D and game design. Wongus became associated with the Centre for Art Tapes in 2002 with her audio recording “Vessel of Me” on the recording “CFAT Audio Scholarships 2002” which became a part of the centre’s tape collection.

Biographical history

Peter Dykhuis is a Canadian artist, curator, and critical writer who resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dykhuis has exhibited artwork in various artist-run centres and galleries throughout Canada. Dykhuis has also worked in different galleries; he was the Director of Anna Leonowens Gallery and is the current Director/Curator of the Dalhousie Art Gallery at Dalhousie University. Dykhuis’ education includes a BFA from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Peter Dykhuis became associated with the Centre for Art Tapes in 2002 because his audio recording became a part of the centre’s tape collection.

Custodial history

The tape was donated to the Dalhousie University Archives in 2013 by the Centre for Art Tapes.
