John Hall Joice Hall: [exhibition catalogue]

Item is a catalogue for a joint exhibition of artworks by John and Joice Hall, titled John Hall: Paintings, and Joice Hall: Celebration Landscapes. The exhibition was organized by and presented at Dalhousie Art Gallery from July 5-31, 1976.

Ken Ward and the "A Feather of Hope" campaign

File is an audio reel containing an episode of The Word is Out, a radio program broadcast on CKDU radio 88.1. This episode features Ken Ward of the Enoch reserve outside of Edmonton. Ken was diagnosed with HIV in January, and shortly after started the "A Feather of Hope" campaign educating indigenous people about AIDS. He visited Halifax to speak with other indigenous groups and to be interviewed for the video "Life After Diagnosis" (People With Aids coalition). The episode was recorded on April 29, 1990, and was broadcasted on May 1, 1990.

Item is a reel-to-reel recording of Verdi's opera "La Traviata," presented at the Banff School of Fine Arts in the summer of 1961. Sheila Piercey performed the role of Violetta (soprano). Handwritten notes inside the box lid read: "#499 - aria Ah! fors e lui che l'anima - Side I on tape." The recording is tape 1 of 3.

This episode features Marie Jakober, a Calgary-based author, on her books A People in Arms (1987) and Sandinista: A Novel of Nicaragua (1985). Hosted by Barbara Harris of the Latin American Information Group (LAIG), the episode was recorded March 23, 1988 and aired March 24, 1988. It was rebroadcast May 26, 1988 and August 18, 1988 on The Evening Affair, CKDU's evening public affairs program.
