The file also contains a copy of a National Arts Centre program, which Pugh presumably used in his research, and a program from the 16th Annual Festival of Chamber Music and All that Jazz in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The file also contains a numerical coded index of composers and works, and a list of works and composers (also coded) that Anthony Pugh studied, listened to on his own records and borrowed records, heard on radio broadcasts, and heard on his own and borrowed tapes from 1980 to 1982.

Item is a diary kept by Arthur H. Whitman that describes a trip to England between November, 30 1888 and January 17, 1889. The diary contains daily entries that describe Whitman's activities, church attendance, meals, business and social visits, and letters sent and received. Many entries describe his meetings about apples. The diary also records money received and paid.

Augustus John : [exhibition catalogue]

File consists of catalogues for the exhibition 'Augustus John', organized by Dalhousie Art Gallery for circulation by the National Gallery of Canada for the period of 1972-1973. The exhibition was presented at Dalhousie in November 1972.

Catalogues contain an essay by Dalhousie Art Gallery Director, Ernest W. Smith, 32 p. of b&w image plates, a catalogue of works in the exhibition, a biographical chronology of Augustus John, an a select bibliography. All text is included in English and French.

Autographs and letters from various composers

File includes a postcard with a black and white photograph of Pietro Mascagni (1863-1945), an Italian opera composer. The postcard has various signatures on the front, including Francesco Marconi (1855-1916, operatic tenor from Rome) and four other illegible signatures. The postcard is addressed to Frau Dr. Lehnsern(?) of Berlin. File also includes the incipits of three pieces by Ignaz Moscheles (1794-1870), signed at dated October 3, 1844. There are also five letters written by the following composers: Jacques Offenbach (1879), Gustav Mahler (1899), Edvard Grieg (1902), Maurice Ravel (1921), and Ignacy Paderewski (n.d., 1860-1941).
